Found¹ Poem: The Sermon at Benares, The Buddha’s first speech to his disciples
A dignified manner
involuntarily
Equally
To despise, is wicked
Painful, useless, and unprofitable self-mortification
Free from delusions
Avoiding the two extremes
Leads to peace of mind
To the higher wisdom
To full enlightenment
To Nirvana!
Recognize the existence of suffering
Painful
Suffering
Destruction
Destruction of sorrow
with
Right views
Right aspirations
Right speech
Right behavior
Right livelihood
Right effort
Right thoughts
Right contemplation
Practice of loving kindness
Liberation of heart
Never return in renewed births
Nirvana attained
Though has found the truth
